Full Job Description

We are looking for an outstanding, qualified, and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our junior school.

This role will work across Early Years and KS1 on a fixed term contract, working term time only (35 weeks), until July 2025.

The junior school is an integral part of the larger school and is located in a spacious woodland setting with its own purpose-built facilities and play areas. There is a nurturing and encouraging approach to each child's development whilst ensuring appropriate academic rigour and monitoring of progress. Through a broad and forward-looking curriculum, we aim to embed creative and independent learning as an intrinsic part of the curriculum.

The successful candidate will have a relevant Early Years Educator (EYE) level 3 qualification (or equivalent) or be studying towards one with experience of working with children across the age range 2 ½ to 7 years. They will have a contagious enthusiasm and a genuine love of working with children, able to see the potential in every child. A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular and pastoral life of the school is essential.

In return, you can expect all the benefits of a thriving independent school: a competitive salary, pension, professional development, cycle scheme, lunches in term time and free parking.

Further details of the role can be found under the 'Working at Claremont' section on our website: www.claremontfancourt.co.uk

Closing date: 9.00am on Monday 30 September 2024.

Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 30 September 2024.

Early applications are strongly encouraged as we may interview suitable candidates ahead of the closing date.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are seeking applications from suitable candidates from all backgrounds. We are fully committed to creating and sustaining a positive and supportive working environment free from discrimination where staff feel valued and respected. We value individuality and diversity and believe in equal opportunity for everyone, irrespective of age, disability, gender identity, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation or socio-economic background.

Claremont Fan Court School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). All staff at the school share responsibility for safeguarding and you will be required to undergo appropriate safeguarding training.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the school is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) to assess their suitability to work with children.
