Full Job Description

We are a small, newly registered, independent, specialist school, offering education to students with special educational needs, including: social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties from age eleven through to sixteen years of age.
At maximum capacity, the school will have just ten children on roll. You will be assisting the class teacher with small groups and also working 1:1 with individual children. Our smaller, more personal setting provides an environment where our learners can thrive and succeed in a warm, safe space.
Last January, we received our first Oftsed inspection and were very pleased to be awarded a rating of Good.
The school's objective is to cultivate 'resilience in learning and life'. This is the primary goal of our teaching, learning and curriculum. We offer a holistic pedagogy, which empowers our learners in their academic, cultural, emotional and social developement across the whole curriculum.

We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self motivated Teaching Assistant/Learning Mentor to cover maternity leave.
For the above role, a GCSE grade C in English and Maths, plus a relevant qualification is desirable. However, for the right candidate, experience in a similar role and SEN environment would be considered more important.
The role will be demanding and challenging, but very rewarding.
You will need excellent communication skills, self-motivation, flexibility, effective time management, and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team. An understanding of the ethos of the school and the ability to work within this ethos in order to support and develop all learners regardless of ability, education, behaviour, social or emotional needs.
The successful candidate will have a direct impact on pupil's lives, raising aspirations and improving opportunitities for our young people.
The T3 School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other relevant employment checks, including overseas criminal background, where applicable.
