Full Job Description

Kingsthorne Primary School is a two-form entry primary school in the heart of Kingstanding. Like many schools our SEN numbers are rising, and we want someone who can ensure our children receive the best provision possible to meet their individual needs. The role will involve the leadership and day to day management of SEN throughout the school whilst working closely with the pastoral team to maintain high standards of behaviour. We want someone who will:

  • build good relationships with children and families and work hard every day to improve the outcomes for SEN children
  • communicate with stakeholders in a compassionate manner using a child centred approach
  • work closely with external agencies and providers of support and be prepared to hold them to account
  • be able to work to deadlines and write meaningful, personalised reports and paperwork for EHCPs and provision plans
  • holds or is willing to complete the national award for SEN co-ordination
  • lead, co-ordinate and deliver high quality training for staff
  • support staff with developing effective behaviour strategies
  • monitor behaviour records across the school
