Full Job Description

Corpus Christi Catholic Academy Trust wishes to appoint a Teaching Assistant Level 3 SAN at St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Dukinfield[i] to provide support for pupils in the classroom. The role is fixed term in the first instance to 31st December 2025 due to funding for a specific child and is therefore linked to this child, but with a possibility of extension or a permanent contract at a later date. The main duties of the role:

  • Under the guidance of a teacher, manage specialist support in a specific area of the curriculum and take a lead role in addressing the needs of pupils who require help to overcome barriers to learning
  • Deliver learning programmes and support individual pupils, small groups (and whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers)
  • To work with groups of pupils under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of programmes of work and the implementation of ILPs
  • Under the direction of the teacher, prepare classroom for lessons, including display work and clear afterwards as appropriate
  • Implement agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs, including assessment

  • Be able to adapt and respond appropriately to challenging situations
  • Be someone who is enthusiastic and motivated to challenge, inspire and motivate our students.
  • Be open to new ideas, committed to working as part of a team and of course have a good sense of humour
