Full Job Description

Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School, (rated Good by OFSTED in September 2021), is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant who can provide excellent support to students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Cardinal Wiseman has a growing cohort of students with SEND, and this appointment will help ensure that we maintain and develop our high quality of additional support for those students. As a Catholic school, we recognise the special nature of every individual and celebrate differences between us.

They will be able to make effective decisions about when and how to support students in different subject lessons in close collaboration with teachers, and will be able to deliver small group and individual interventions which adapt to meet the Special Educational Needs of each student. Excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication skills are therefore a prerequisite.

The SEND Department is building on its current good practice, and seeking to appoint somebody who can fully commit to this, embracing our values of care and compassion, which are essential for the students we serve, as we strive to help them realise their fullest educational potential. If you are interested in this role and would like to request an informal visit, please contact Sue Woodley on , or email at swoodley@cardinalwiseman.net
