Full Job Description

We are a Church of England primary school with Christian values at the heart of all we do. The Governors of St Thomas' are looking for 2x highly motivated Teaching Assistants (SEN) with knowledge and experience of working with children, to join our supportive team.

These posts are temporary for a year in the first instance, with a view to becoming permanent. We are committed to giving children the best start in life and are looking for someone committed to helping children achieve academic and emotional progress through an enriched and lively curriculum.

Although the position is mainly classroom based, it may involve working with SEN children (one-to-one, within groups or within whole classes) with some medical requirements, personal care and / or the possibility of difficult behavioural needs.

The role will also include working closely with the class teacher in developing and implementing individual education / behaviour plans, assisting with planning and learning activities and developing strategies inline with school policies.

Experience with working with children with behavioural needs is essential.GCSE numeracy and literacy at grade C or above (or equivalent level 2 literacy / numeracy qualification) and / or Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.

Qualified teachers are also welcome to apply.

In order to promote and support effective learning, you will work collaboratively with teaching staff and contribute to the planning and delivery of quality teaching and the management of resources.

Applicants should be confident in working across Key Stage 2 and enjoy working as a team.
