Teaching Assistants

Brierley Hill Primary School is looking to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant. We are a one-form entry school, catering for pupils from 3-11 years old. We are situated within the borough of Dudley, in the heart of the Black Country. The role will require someone who has specific skills and experience. Key Features for all levels of Teaching Assistants are to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups and support teaching staff in the development and education of pupils including the provision of detailed and specialist skills/knowledge in particular areas. • Work in a creative way to inspire and challenge children, It is a requirement that all our staff have an enhanced DBS check as we are committed to the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils and staff. All appointments are subject to detailed and satisfactory references and health-check being received.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children; therefore, the post is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All applicants must be able to provide documentation to prove their right to work in the UK. Effective from September 2022, KCSIE states as part of the shortlisting process schools and colleges should consider carrying out on-line searches, as part of the due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is to determine suitability to work with children and keep them safe. All shortlisted candidates are now subject to an on-line check and if there is anything concerning, then the shortlisted candidate will be asked to comment on it either prior to or at interview.

We have high expectations of our pupils and believe that there are no barriers that we cannot overcome for them. We are continuing to develop our curriculum and there are professional development opportunities available to all staff. All staff in school will be expected to accept reasonable flexibility in working arrangements and the allocation of duties in pursuance of raising pupil achievement. Any changes will take account of salary/ status/hours and will be subject to discussion, in accordance with the guidance note on contractual changes.
