Full Job Description
- Coaching students on a 1:1 or group basis
- Accompanying groups on trips
- Working with teachers to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
- Maintaining a safe and positive environment for students
- Creating opportunities for all students to reach their potential, irrespective of ability
- Break and lunch duties - all TA's are required to do 2 x 15 min break duty and 4 x 30 min lunch duties per week (paid)
Sunnydown School is an oversubscribed and very successful Special School, catering for young men with Communication and Interaction Needs (CoIN) in Caterham, Surrey. Our experienced team of teachers and TA's are highly versatile in their ability to deliver outstanding and transformational learning experiences in a range of subjects., Basic numeracy and literacy skills (essential) - A proven ability to work using their own initiative
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate positively to students and adults
- Good IT skills
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Previous teaching assistant experience or experience with SEN children would be beneficial but not essential
