Full Job Description

Do you have an established background in the Food Industry? Do you have excellent communication skills and the ability to teach Food Science and Nutrition students at undergraduate and postgraduate level? Are you passionate about developing the next generation of graduates into the workplace?
We are looking for a Teaching Fellow in Food Science and Nutrition (Industrial Engagement) to contribute to the development of outstanding graduates within the School of Food Science and Nutrition. You will be responsible for delivering innovative teaching and assessment in areas of key relevance to the Food Industry, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will contribute to the development of new teaching material, resources, modules and programmes and ensure that employability is embedded through all our courses. As part of this role, you will also develop teaching methods to embed food industry software and innovative digital techniques to deliver simulated factory environments. This will involve engaging with industry to develop required core teaching materials.

With a postgraduate degree in Food Science, Nutrition or a related subject, and relevant experience of working in the food industry, you will have an enthusiastic and innovative approach to all aspects of student education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to use technology effectively and innovatively in the preparation and delivery of blended learning material. You will also have an understanding of the Higher Education environment and graduate recruitment market, with the ability to keep up to date with developments. You must also be able to travel to partner industrial organisations as this is a key part of the role.
