Full Job Description

We are a large primary school with 630 pupils and over 100 staff. The school is warm, friendly and welcoming and the staff team works closely together to support all of our pupils.
We currently have a new opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic full-time Early Years Apprentice Teaching Partner.
Term time only (38 weeks per year), approximately 31 hours 40 minutes per week to include half an hour lunch duty each day. Exact hours to be confirmed on appointment.
The post involves supporting children in the classroom, working with small groups and providing some one to one support. Our Teaching Partners work closely with the class teacher to support the learning of all children in the class and the role is varied, interesting and offers the opportunity to undertake additional training. Apprentices are supported by a mentor and time will be provided out of the classroom in order to complete required activities to achieve a Level 3 qualification.
We are looking for candidates who have high expectations of themselves and others and work extremely well in a team. You should be positive and able to reflect the School Values:
Foster a passion for learning
Honesty
Respect
Empathy
Courage
Inclusivity
The successful candidates will assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Headteacher, SENDCo and Class Teachers. Teaching Partner posts include supervision of children for part of the lunch break.
Candidates should be in sympathy with the ethos of a church school.
Our school and all its personnel are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children. The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to our online recruitment check.
Application closing date: Monday 16 September 2024 at 12pm.
Interview dates: to be confirmed (likely to be Sept 2024). The school retains the right to interview suitable applicants and appoint before the deadline.

St. John's is a school with a Christian foundation and we welcome all children and adults into our community. We want our children, families and staff to know that they are valued, cared for and to be happy. We want our children to be passionate about learning and to equip them with the tools that will enable them to flourish academically, emotionally and spiritually.
1 Corinthians 12 v 12 says, 'there is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body.'
We are a Voluntary Controlled Church of England School situated in Tunbridge Wells. We have three forms of entry with a total of 630 pupils. We offer a wide range of extra curricular activities to pupils.
