Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a DNA Team Lead to join our team at our site based in Lambeth. This is a truly exciting time to begin or continue your career with our first-class business, as a DNA Team lead you will be responsible for inspiring and empowering a team of DNA analysts to deliver results of the highest quality standard in line with business unit strategy. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, applicants should note that security clearance is required for this role. To gain security clearance you must have five years continuous residency in the UK. Security clearance is undertaken by a third party to police personnel vetting standards (NPPV/3 and SC), as such any criminal convictions may prevent you from gaining security clearance. In addition, all successful applicants will be required to undertake drug and alcohol testing prior to commencing employment, The successful candidate will also be expected to;

  • Clearly communicate the business vision and business unit strategy to your team of analysts.
  • Develop and utilise clear KPIs to empower the team to deliver on this strategy, closely monitoring outputs, taking timely action and communicating to key stakeholders when these are not achieved.
  • Deliver profitable and sustainable growth through effective management of team operating costs
  • Demonstrate ownership for any issues that arise, only escalating when necessary
  • Use lean methodologies to organise sample throughput to achieve maximum efficiency whilst delivering against contractual obligations to customers.
  • Work alongside the lean project manager to embed a continuous improvement ethos in the team.
  • Deliver the BU talent management strategy to attract, develop and retain star performers.
  • Develop and maintain succession plans for key roles and skills
  • Direct line management of DNA team members.
  • Ensure continued personal and professional development through the Eurofins PPDR process and regular 1-2-1 meetings
  • Expect and recognise high performance from direct reports
  • Manage performance issues
  • Manage quality issues and non conformance to BU procedures.
  • Manage team abstractions alongside workflow to ensure continuity of service.
  • Developing a team strategy inclusive of training to ensure both team and individual wellbeing.
  • Inspire passion to achieve excellent performance, ensuring recognition is provided where due
  • Lead by example and earn trust, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standard
