Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Highly Specialist Mental Health Worker with a passion for working with young people within Children in Care settings. You will be Leading the Children in Care Pathway which provides consultation to the LBN LAC Team with a small capacity to do direct work with young people and their families. There is also an opportunity to develop the consultation model for use with complex cases known to LBN but not in care. LBN & CAMHS have a well-established and effective partnership which facilitates opportunities for joint working and co delivery of community based interventions. The post holder will lead on audit and outcomes for the service.

Newham CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary team with a Care Pathway model of service delivery. The team consists of Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Specialist Mental Health Nurses, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists, Family Therapists, Creative Therapists and Administrative staff who are committed to developing innovative and effective ways of working. This is a busy, interesting, and varied job working with children in care their families and social workers.

The Pathway sits within the Emotional and Behavioural Pathway and has ready access to other specialist pathways in the clinic where needed, including the Neurodevelopmental Pathway and the Adolescent team as well as other agencies within Newham

The post holder will be accountable to the E&B Clinical Team Leads for delivering a multidisciplinary CAMHS service, bringing together all component parts to ensure robust patient safety, improved patient experience, clinical outcomes, and quality and performance standards. They will deliver on performance targets and quality outcomes in order to transform the service, improving access to and choice of evidence based therapies and building capability to deliver positive and measurable outcomes for children and young people and their families. The Team Lead will deputise when necessary for the Clinical team leads in both teams and coordinate the delivery of service across the Children in Care Pathway as well as providing specialist supervision, consultation, training and direct clinical interventions in both this team and in the Emotional and Behavioural team.

The Team Lead will provide highly specialised knowledge and skills to the Children in Care pathway, carrying out complex assessments and treatment of a variety of clinical presentations, including substantial systemic liaison and co-ordination using specialised assessment tools appropriate to their discipline. Your remit will be to provide consultation and also good quality, comprehensive assessments, evidence based interventions and treatment packages to young people who present with particular difficulties within LAC settings.
