Full Job Description

The post holder will be employed by King's College Hospital (KCH) NHS Foundation Trust to work as part of the Acute Paediatric Therapy Team and Neonatal Therapy Team. They will provide a specialist neonatal physiotherapy service on the busy Level 3 Neonatal Unit at King's College Hospital, including provision to the Local Neonatal Unit at PRUH. The Neonatal Units provide specialist medical and surgical services to premature and sick newborn infants requiring intensive care, high dependency care, special care and neurodevelopmental follow-up., The post holder will use highly specialist knowledge and skills to manage their own complex caseload autonomously and take a lead in respiratory care, neurodevelopmental care and early intervention on the Neonatal Units cross site.

This post provides clinical supervision to the Rotational Band 6 physiotherapist and will deputise for and support the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in their absence.

The post holder will be expected to represent the neonatal physiotherapy team and the wider neonatal and paediatric therapy team at relevant meetings, and will advise on service developments in line with policy development.

The post holder will be expected to take an active lead on the implementation of local clinical governance initiatives, evidence based practice (EBP) and clinical audit, as well as supporting the unit with developmental care and a family integrated approach to care.

The post requires a flexible approach to working and an ability to work closely as part of a multi-disciplinary therapy team and take part in the trust on call rota and the paediatric weekend rota
