Full Job Description

We have an opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced occupational therapist to provide clinical leadership, line management and support with service development to join the children's centre team based in Nevill Hall Childrens Centre. The children's centre is one of three delivering occupational therapy to the whole of Gwent. Intervention is provided in the community, the children's centre and in a variety of educational settings.

The post offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive, fast paced learning environment. The clinical caseload is interesting and varied with a mix of children and young people presenting with a wide range of conditions across all age groups. There is a robust supervision structure in place and the senior leadership group for children's services provide direction, professional and personal support., Manage a complex and varied caseload of children and young people with disabilities and developmental problems.

Provide clinical and professional leadership to the Children's Centre OT team, including supervision and the development of OT staff within the multidisciplinary context.

Have a management responsibility for all the OTs in that designated team, which includes conduct and performance issues, in partnership with the Professional Head Occupational Therapist for Children and Young Peoples Occupational Therapy Services.

Take a borough wide perspective ensuring that OT provision best meets local need, within the context of the strategic direction of the occupational therapy service.

Ensure that OT is represented in all relevant multi-agency and multidisciplinary meetings.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
