Full Job Description

This post will also form part of the leadership group of the ACC group, and will work particularly closely with the Clinical Lead Therapist and Team Lead Occupational Therapist. The ideal candidate will have an interest and considerable experience in both Cardio-Respiratory and Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy, as well as a desire to progress their leadership skills from an existing base., Responsible for operational management of the Heart Centre Therapy service, and assisting with the operational management of the wider Adult Critical Care workstream.

Use expert knowledge and skills to contribute to strategic planning and development of the Therapy service for the Heart Centre

Use expert clinical reasoning skills to provide specialist support and advice to the Heart Centre MDT.

Maintain a clinical caseload of highly complex patients as an autonomous practitioner

Responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of evidence based practice and quality assurance

Takes the lead in maintaining and developing evidence based practice in cardiorespiratory care within the Trust in conjunction with the other respiratory team leaders..

Supervise, initiate and participate in evidence based projects and is responsible for implementing changes within AICU & CICU, and the setting and monitoring standards of practice.

Contribute to cardiorespiratory care services development across the Trust.

Represent physiotherapy at relevant Critical Care networks within the Trust and the Thames Valley Health Authority as an alternate.

To liaise with the Adult Critical Care team leaders with regard to provision of critical care across the Trust sites.
