Key duties include conducting LOLER inspections and liaising with the client to ensure all their needs are met within the agreed timelines. Also responsible for the all health and safety (H&S) aspects for the site team. The role requires operating with a clear customer focus and driving optimal service delivery. The Team Leader will also work closely with the area delivery manager to successfully deliver the contractual inspections and other required tasks. Main Duties and Responsibilities : Non Productive

  • Engagement of site engineers and site administrator, supporting the day to day running of a productive team in conjunction with the clients planning requirements.
  • Assisting in the completion Health and safety Audits with the Area Manager and liaising with the Health and Safety team to ensure all action are followed up and engineers are working safely.
  • Attending client meetings to build relationships to ensure at good working relationship between Bureau Veritas and the client.
  • Assisting with complaint investigations and resolution.
  • Mentoring and focus on new starters to the area to ensure a successful induction / on boarding and technical training
  • Driving and support the upskilling / dual training of Engineers within the area, making sure that the upskilling programme is running effectively and in line with business requirements.
  • Support the completion of PMR's and performance reviews for your site team.
  • Support Weekly Ops call with Area Manager to ensure site is fully compliant
  • Provide KPI's to the client to demonstrate the site performance in conjunction with the contract manager
  • Work closely with the SO to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Support surveyor security clearance applications for site.

  • Fully utilise all operational systems available ensuring accurate data is inputted and reflected
  • Whilst acting as a fully integrated member of the site team, retain independent and individual ownership and responsibility for all allocated inspection and technical activities.
  • Ensure survey's and inspections are carried out in set time scales in line with planned schedule of work
  • Formulate, produce and distribute inspection reports in a professional manner within daily timescales and service standards.
  • Work closely with site administrator to ensure the client's planned work is completed on a daily basis by the team, any change must be communicated to the administrator and site planning team (SO) planner
  • Provide, build and maintain excellent client relationships and ensure that all client service standards are met on site.
  • Maintain an awareness of developments in standards and legislation affecting the Engineer Surveyor's engineering discipline, and support change as required.
  • Act on behalf of the company, making full use of technical expertise, when required.
  • Be able to respond and work flexibly, including requests to work nationally or outside of the region, when required. There may be occasional requirements to stay away from home
  • Provide training for other Engineer Surveyors as required.
  • Identify any possible business opportunities and advise all appropriate business areas.
  • Maintain technical standards within business units to meet business plan measures participating in Technical Competency Testing and Technical Audits (internal and external).
  • Work effectively with Area Managers and Operations Manager to ensure all KPI's are met

    Proven experience with sound technical knowledge of the relevant engineering discipline / s.
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of in-service inspection procedures and processes.
  • Good knowledge of market, industry trends, developments and changes in legislation.
  • Proven experience in H&S, Minimum HNC, HND or equivalent mechanical engineering qualification
  • Relevant H&S qualification (desirable)
  • Hold a current . driving license.
  • Current driving licence

    Salary £50,000
