Youth First was born from the passion of youth and play workers to create a means to sustain and ideally grow youth work for young people aged 8-19 (up to 25 with SEND), in Lewisham and beyond.
Youth First has secured a new 5 year contract with London Borough of Lewisham to continue to deliver play activities across 5 Adventure Playgrounds in the borough. Working with the Lewisham Play Strategy to advance the role of play in the development of young people. We are looking forward to growing the style, range and number of play sessions on offer at the different sites. We believe that active imagination developed through creative and adventurous play helps build resilience and problem-solving that equip young people for life. The service will operate 5 days a week from Tuesday to Saturday. Working between 3 and 6.30 in the evenings and in the early afternoon on Saturdays. Team Leaders will have an additional 6 hours for development, support and site management. Play Workers will have 3 hours a week for development and support.
We are now seeking to recruit part time Team Leaders and Play Workers who will work in teams across Adventure Playgrounds in Lewisham. We are looking to start people as soon as possible.

Salary: £29,625 pro rata
Hours: 21 hours a week

Team Leader job role/responsibilities
Working with the Lewisham Play Strategy to advance the role of play in the development of young people. The post holder will lead play sessions at Youth First adventure playgrounds, supervise staff and volunteers and ensure that adventure playgrounds are welcoming, safe, clean, educational and fun. To be responsible for safeguarding on site and during sessions.
