Full Job Description
Both roles provide leadership for the Cloud and Storage Services team within Infrastructure Services.
- The Team Lead reports to the Head of Platform Services and provides strategic direction, ensuring the team delivers reliable, robust, and secure services.
- The Deputy Team Lead reports to the Team Lead and shares responsibility for managing team members and services. The team manages key services, including:
- The University Private Cloud service
- Secondary Storage (Scality)
- The HFS (Storage Protect) Backup service
- The CrashPlan backup service As cloud technology evolves, the team's scope is expected to expand to include third-party infrastructure services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. The postholders will play a leading role in the design, delivery, and management of systems critical to the University.
- Proven expertise in leading technical teams, including recruitment, staff development, and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of IT service management processes and IT systems lifecycle management, from design to implementation and ongoing operations.
- Strategic thinking in IT service operations, with the ability to align infrastructure strategies with organisational needs and emerging technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences and produce high-quality written documentation.
