Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a Team Leader for our Packing department. The primary responsibility of this role is to pack electronic capital equipment for export across the globe, while also managing the stock levels of packaging materials. The successful candidate will also be responsible for packing and shipping customer spares and service orders, as well as providing support to the Packing Supervisor to ensure that stock is stored accurately, securely, and labelled correctly. Additionally, the Team Leader will be required to provide assistance to other areas as needed, such as Material Handling and Pre-Pack., You will be working on a rotating shift pattern in line with the rota notified to you by your Team Leader (unless otherwise stated in your contract of employment/terms and conditions). System and Upgrades Packing: (Key)

  • In the absence of the Team Leader-Packing, manage workloads to ensure deadlines are met to achieve the business 'On-Time' shipment to customers globally.
  • Ensure OIPT packing standards are maintained to ensure goods arrive undamaged.
  • Update Team Leader-Packing of stock levels of packaging materials in line with predicted requirements.
  • Load shipments onto vehicles for onward shipment.
  • Ensure packing is completed in line with the requirements relating to secure cargo.
  • Process Return to Vendor (RTV) requests.
  • Managing Teams: (Key)
  • In the absence of the Team Leader-Packing, Manage and co-ordinate the team and ensure conformance to the behaviours and attitudes of OIPT.
  • Deal with any issues as they arise from the team.
  • Help to build a fully focussed driven team capable of achieving agreed targets.
  • Complete all PDR/WE-Matter information as required in Team Leaders absence.
  • Co-ordinate with suppliers for delivery of materials to complete tasks in a timely manner on a regular basis.
  • Spares and Service orders: (Support)
  • Ensure orders are picked, packed and shipped in a timely manner; ensuring parts are packed in a safe secure fashion to avoid damage in transit.
  • Invoice spares and service orders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure delivery targets are met.
  • General: (Support)
  • Provide support to other areas as required, typically Material Handling & Pre-Pack.
  • Provide support to other departments in the movement of material.
  • Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably requested by the Company.
  • Investigate and report any stock losses.
  • Manual Handling: (As and when required)
  • Ensure all movements of goods are performed in a safe manner utilising the correct equipment for each job.
  • Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably requested by the Company.

    English and Maths to numeracy and literacy.
  • Professional Skills/ Abilities:
  • Computer literacy.
  • Clear communicator.
  • Some lifting (<25kgs) is involved.
  • FLT licence preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a similar role.
