Full Job Description

The Community Speech & Language Therapy Service at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint a Speech & Language Therapist on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

The post is to predominantly provide additional operational leadership and performance management through a team leader role, however there will be an expectation to manage a small caseload and to be flexible in nature regarding inputting into the clinical work area that may be required across the team.

The successful post holder would oversee and co-ordinate the team's workload, ensuring effective overall caseload management and patient flow. They will hold operational responsibility for performance management, sickness absence management, staff appraisal, capability, code of conduct, risk management and informal 'on the spot' resolution for a team of speech and language therapists.

The post is based in the community, and so there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be a car driver and have access to a vehicle to enable them to travel to, and between various locations throughout the week., To provide operational leadership to a team of speech and language therapists ensuring they provide a high-quality speech and language therapy service to children in a variety of community settings including clinics, schools and nurseries.

To work flexibly to assess and provide a range of therapeutic interventions using specialist knowledge to children across a range of clinical areas.
