ABOUT THE JOB Newham Youth Justice Service puts children and families at the heart of all that we do. You will support the Service Manager and Head of Service to maintain effective systems for monitoring, reviewing and evaluating staff and own performance against the team's objectives. As part of the role, you will support with developing and embedding a performance culture that delivers results through rigorous challenge, disciplined execution and continual improvement, ensuring that resources are targeted on business priorities and meeting customer needs. ABOUT YOU Are you an enthusiastic, forward thinking Child First leader, then this job is for you? You will have a proven record of leadership and management offering supervision to practitioners; and you will have experience of working within children's sectors or transferable skills that will support this area of work. You will be experienced in quality assurance and providing management oversight to the team. You will have experience of working with partners and in multi-agency settings. As a leader, you will contribute to the development of all aspects of YJS prevention services and statutory YJS services including interventions for children, parents and those who have been harmed, ensuring non-oppressive practice, anti-racist practice and equality of opportunity for the delivery of effective Court and core services. It is well positioned with access to all major networks in London and the south east. It is well connected by public transport with, bus, tube and DLR. When the Crossrail service opens it will call at Custom House close to our council offices and also Stratford station and from there to central London. The London City Airport which serves major European cities is located at Royal Albert Dock. Newham has the youngest overall population in the country. It was one of the six host boroughs for the 2012 Summer Olympics and contains most of the Olympic Park including the London Stadium. It has a thriving arts quarter with the Theatre Royal Stratford East offering excellent entertainment for all the family. There is the University of East London which has two campuses in Newham, one in Stratford and another next to the regenerated Royal Albert Dock. It also has a large Westfield shopping Centre in Stratford which has all the major retailers there.
