Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivatedDatabase Administrator (DBA) Manager to lead our database team in ensuring the optimal performance, security, and reliability of our data systems. In this critical leadership role, you will manage the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of our databases, supporting the data needs of the entire organization.

As the Team Manager, Database Administrators, you will oversee a team of skilled DBAs responsible for database design, implementation, and optimization. You will ensure the availability and integrity of our data across multiple platforms, managing backups, disaster recovery plans, and performance tuning. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to support application development, data warehousing, and business intelligence initiatives.

Key responsibilities include leading database upgrades and migrations, implementing security protocols, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You will also drive innovation by evaluating and integrating new database technologies that enhance scalability and performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, with extensive experience in managing complex, large-scale database environments. You should have excellent leadership and project management skills, with a passion for data management and a commitment to excellence.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems across NCA sites. This includes managing the deployment of database servers, storage systems, and associated infrastructure components, ensuring alignment with NHS standards and industry best practices.

In addition to strategic planning, you will provide leadership and direction to a team of database administrators. Your role will involve mentoring team members, fostering a culture of excellence, and promoting professional development to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of the team.

As Team Manager, Database Administrators (DBA's), you will also be responsible for managing resources, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure the efficient and effective operation of database services. Your leadership, strategic vision, and technical expertise will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to patients and communities within the NCA.
