Full Job Description
To manage and supervise the Post Approval Team, including the direct line management of Senior Practitioners. Providing: clear and visible management for the team members and fair distribution of the work, taking overall responsibility and accountability for their supervision, performance, quality of their work, including recruitment/retention, induction, training, development and performance management. 2. Safeguard and protect vulnerable adults and children in accordance with Coram IAC's and Coram Group Policies and Procedures at all times. 3. To manage and motivate staff in the performance of their duties in a way which encourages loyalty, dedication, and high professional standards, in line with Coram IAC's strategy as determined by the Leadership Team, Trustees Boards and Coram Group. 4. To develop and deliver an outstanding Post Approval Service to waiting, linked, matched adopters and adopters and children when they return to the UK, ensuring that the impact of the waiting period is understood and supported through a range of support offers 5. To create and maintain systems to prioritise children's needs and manage the response to demand consistent with performance indicators and targets. To include:
- Managing complex queries and complaints.
- Overseeing or directly managing and supervising sessional social workers undertaking FER monitoring, including quality assuring the range of reports required in post approval processes eg. updated PARs, Matching Reports, Annex A, Post Placements reports, etc.
- Working collaboratively with other teams across the service, to ensure that learning and up to date knowledge is shared and disseminated and that case transfer points are seamless.
- Overseeing or directly managing and supervising the work of the business support and Case workers involved in all aspects of their work including maintenance of records, management information, information for families in conjunction with the Information & Advice Service, and on Coram IAC website.
- Regularly reporting to the Leadership Team and attending Board of Trustee meetings as requested. Attending and representing the agency at relevant meetings in connection with the development and delivery of the intercountry adoption post approval services.
- Providing accurate and up to date case records of Management decisions, supervision, contact and interventions in a timely manner/in accordance with Coram IAC policies and procedures.
- Tracking and reporting on data, statistics and financial / budget information on a weekly and monthly basis as required. As a member of the Post Adoption and the Operational Management Teams to work to develop, improve and maintain services, ensuring that the Post Approval Teams' operational procedures, which support service delivery, are fit for purpose and that accurate data informs monthly, quarterly and annual performance reports. 7. Take lead responsibility for maintaining and developing accredited overseas adoption programs with the Leadership Team, working with partner agencies, inspiring confidence, and credibility in our service provision. 8. Where required, to participate in organising and facilitating Practitioner Network Meetings, training, seminars and events for families and social care professionals. 9. Undertake regular evaluations and feedback of services - to inform service development and for Management information, feedback to Commissioners and purposes of Inspection. 10. Attend relevant meetings concerned with planning, developing, delivering, evaluating, and promoting the wider agency services. 11. To take up such opportunities for training that are provided by the agency and maintain an awareness/working knowledge of current practice issues and legislative requirements. 12. Contribute to the review and development of relevant policies and procedures, as required and ensure that these are implemented and adhered to at all times. 13. Attending professional meetings and networks on behalf of Coram IAC. 14. To recognise and challenge all forms of discrimination and prejudice in the workplace. 15. To maintain an awareness of your own and others' health and safety and comply with Coram Group Health and Safety policy and procedures. 17. To maintain confidentiality of information; it will be necessary to comply with all requirements related to the Data Protection Act/ General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 18. Undertake any such other tasks as may be reasonably requested from time to time by the Managing Director and/or Leadership Team.
