Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two highly motivated, flexible, and hardworking individuals to join the Specialist Rehabilitation Team as Medical Secretaries. We are looking for organised, motivated, and experienced professionals who can work effectively as part of a small team, primarily responsible for transcribing medical letters for the multidisciplinary team. The positions are part time, each for 21.5 hours per week, with working days either Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday., The Medical Secretary will provide a comprehensive and high-quality medical secretarial service to support the clinical teams, including Consultants, junior medical staff, specialist nursing staff, and Allied Health Professionals using the EPRO digital dictation system (audio typing). The successful candidate will be able to communicate sensitivity and effectively with a wide range of people including Consultants, GP's, Allied Health Professionals, patients, carers and colleagues and be diplomatic and calm under pressure. They will ensure typing standards of 5 day turnaround are met so patient care is not compromised

Based at Seacroft Hospital the Specialist Rehabilitation Services provides a specialist multidisciplinary assessment service to people of all ages with long term mobility problems across Leeds and West Yorkshire area. The team provide a genuine caring and holistic approach to all they do. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution to specialist healthcare.

The successful candidates will demonstrate excellent typing speeds, accuracy with attention to detail, the ability to work as part of a team under minimal supervision, and the capability to meet strict deadlines. Strong communication skills, prioritisation skills, and the ability to manage deadlines are essential.

The Specialist Rehabilitation Service includes the Regional Prosthetic Service, Leeds Wheelchair Service and Leeds Orthotic Service, all part of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT).
