Full Job Description

Cognica, part of the RSK Group are looking to recruit a Technical Author to join their Operations team. The role is based in Swindon, full time hours (37 hours pw) and offers flexible working.

The successful candidate will report to the Team Leader and work as part of the wider O&M project team in the Operations department. The Technical Author is responsible for the research of, writing, and delivery of a range of technical documents to support building handover for general construction and water utility projects.,

  • Authoring of general construction and water utility site technical documents

  • Work with the internal project teams to deliver technical authoring, as part of wider O&M projects, for both general construction and water utility projects

  • Meetings (virtual & onsite) with client & project stakeholders for clarification of and collection of information to support the preparation of technical documentation

  • Complete projects within budget, on time and to quality standards

  • Update project management tracking systems in a timely manner

  • Ensure outstanding information items, blockers, queries etc are accurately maintained and proactively managed throughout the project lifecycle

  • Distribute project materials to the client stakeholders

  • Maintain an understanding of CIBSE, Reg38, BREEAM, BSRIA, CDM, L2 Logbook, BIM level 2

    High attention to detail and accuracy of written work.

  • Delivers work to a high standard

  • Excellent written English language

  • Good communicator

  • Confident with MS Word, MS Excel, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, and general MS Office products
