Channel 5 are a Public Service ad-funded broadcaster. My5 is Channel 5's On Demand Digital service available on all major platforms in the UK. Channel 5 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to join our digital team. This pivotal role will initially focus on developing and enhancing our AdTech capabilities within our VOD & streaming platform, My5. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, translate them into technical requirements, and drive the implementation of innovative AdTech solutions.,
- Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and objectives related to digital advertising on the My5
- Compile business cases, detailing business benefit, and forecasting/calculating return on investment
- Conduct detailed analysis of current AdTech capabilities and identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop comprehensive business and technical requirements documentation, and create visual reference points to orientate the wider teams
- Facilitate project level ceremonies including working groups, workshops, refinement sessions and steering committees
- Solution Design and Implementation:
- Work with product managers, engineers, sales, privacy, legal and vendors to design and implement AdTech solutions that align with business goals.
- Work to unblock technical challenges and enable high quality and robust technology solutions are delivered
- Ensure the integration of advertising technologies with My5, focusing on scalability, reliability, and user experience.
- Oversee the development and deployment of programmatic advertising, targeted advertising, and analytics tools.
- Teamwork
- Work in lock-step with monetisation project manager, ensuring that all analytical deliverables are clearly defined in a timely manner
- Build solid relationship with wider advertising department and be an advocate for all monetisation requirements on My5
- Work closely with external advertising vendors to ensure cross-team dependencies are clearly understood and tracked
- Become a centre of knowledge and thought leader, who can provide both practical and consultative support to the team

- Support Director of Technical Analysis in using consistent processes to business analysis across Channel 5 organization
- Scan external environment for best practices and collaborate with team(s) to implement where applicable, Interview process:

- Second round interview with team lead and Senior management. Interviewee will be required to carry out an exercise and present back findings to a small set of stakeholders from Channel 5 Channel 5 is an award-winning public service broadcaster and the UK's third latest commercial TV station, reaching 3 in 4 of the UK viewing public each month. The channel has a diverse schedule of original programmes across genres including issue-led documentaries, popular factual, accessible history, stunning natural history, inclusive entertainment and reality, top level sport, high quality scripted programming, headline-grabbing current affairs and critically acclaimed children's and news programming. - 5+ years of experience as a Business/Technical Analyst in digital advertising, AdTech, or a related field, with a focus on VOD services.
- Strong understanding of digital advertising technologies, including programmatic advertising, ad servers, SSPs, DSPs, DMPs, and audience targeting.
- Understanding of server-side and client-side ad insertion techniques
- Knowledge of ad tech standards and protocols, such as VAST, VPAID, and MRAID.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR and industry-specific guidelines
- Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and software engineering practices, as well as traditional project management approaches
- Ability to understand technologies applicable to streaming and VOD
- Comfortable and experienced in leading business and technology teams in vetting technical options and proposing evidence-based recommendations.
- Independently manage activities and resolve competing priorities within associated teams with minimal influence from management; work effectively with all levels of management and employees
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR and industry-specific guidelines.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels Desirable:
- Experience with implementing and managing dynamic ad insertion technologies within VOD services.
- Familiarity with a variety of ad technologies, client side and server side integrations, streaming technologies, CMS, product configuration, metadata, and audience data and analytics systems
- Experience with diagramming software
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize DAI workflows to ensure seamless ad delivery and viewer experience.
- Experience with audience segmentation, behavioral targeting, and leveraging demographic data to create personalized ad experiences.
- Familiarity with A/B testing and multivariate testing methodologies to refine targeting criteria.
- Strong understanding of first-party data collection, management, and utilization to drive personalized advertising and content recommendations.
