Full Job Description

As IT Business Analyst for Eurofins Environment Testing UK & Ireland, you will be responsible for analysing business processes, working with software development teams and implementation of software solutions. You will be responsible for working with local and global teams as part of project deployment across UK & Ireland Laboratories. Working as part of a dynamic IT Team, you will work with business units from around the UK & Ireland to identify, scope and drive change and improvement through IT solutions. Working mainly within laboratories and with LIMS systems. You will be a key driver for implementing process improvements both within the lab, IT Solutions support and replacement of legacy systems. This position is ideal for a Business Analyst looking to make their next step in their career. This role will involve hands on scoping, analysing, implementing, configuration and support of business solutions and will require technical IT knowledge. The role is predominantly laboratory based located in Newmarket. This position reports to the IT Solutions Director for Environment Testing UK & Ireland. There will be some travel to sites across the UK & Ireland. Key duties as a Technical Business Analyst include:

  • Work with business to scope & map business processes
  • Take business requirements and processes, identify change improvements and challenge requests to come up with optimal solutions.
  • Work with the business to scope requirements, and write-up specifications for changes.
  • Understand business requirements, and ensure optimal solutions are delivered.
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify timelines and manage projects
  • Work closely and collaborate with the Business Operations and global IT teams to support laboratory systems, process improvements and contribute to setting up computer systems.
  • Use your technical IT skills to program configuration for the laboratory systems.
  • Facilitating meetings, training and workshops for key users
  • Working with both legacy systems, as well as implementation and scoping of cutting-edge replacement systems.

    Basic SQL and configuration skills
  • Basic Programming skills (VB Scripting, Excel Macro VBA, C# etc.)
  • Experience in providing expert level Application Support
  • Experience in User Training and Application Demonstrations
  • Strong communication skills, including good documentation and written skills.
  • Experience of working directly with development teams
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Ability to engage in constructive conversation, and challenge stakeholders to achieve optimal solutions
  • Strong Computing and or IT background with at least 2-3 years of related work experience in ERP solutions (Ideally LIMS)
  • Beneficial Skills
  • BCS, CCBA, CBAP, PRINCE2 Business Analysis Certifications
  • Experience in laboratory, testing fields or with LIMS systems
  • Experience of agile development and management platforms (DevOps, TFS, Kanban, Jira, Youtrack or similar)
  • Practical knowledge and experience with some or all the following: laboratory equipment, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Laboratory Analytical Instrumentation, reporting, databases, Interfaces and associated peripherals such as barcode scanners, printers, and label printers.
