Technical Buyer

The Technical Buyer is a highly skilled and meticulous member of our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that all purchases meet the company's quality and cost standards. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager of the business unit.,

• Creation and updating of quotation cost comparisons
• Operating with suppliers in both the UK and the USA, creating and issuing purchase orders
• Communicating and negotiating with suppliers and reducing both cost and lead times
• Control of suppliers to ensure on time delivery of all parts to support production
• Liaison with Engineering and Quality to ensure the correct specification is issued to suppliers for quotation and purchasing purposes
• Flow down of commercial terms and conditions to all relevant suppliers

  Experience in Manufacturing Environment
• Excellent IT Skills - ERP & Excel skills
• Experience of building relationships with suppliers and a record of achieving cost savings
• A clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills and able to work within a team
• Support a lean and adaptable culture
• Confident communicator and negotiation skills
• Previous experience within a purchasing role is essential, qualified to MCIPS level desired.
