Job Purpose: Are you looking for an opportunity to enhance your Technical engineering expertise within multi-site cutting edge R&D environments? If so, this Technical Engineering role could be an ideal opportunity for you to explore further. Responsibilities:

  • Integrate facilities engineering support within site operations to maximize facility 'up-time' and reliability for the R&D customers served by Workplace Solutions & its service providers at 3 R&D locations in Weybridge, Maidenhead and Brentside.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of UK legislation with respect to Statutory engineering compliance e.g. PSSR, LOLER, Building safety, Legionella, F-gas, electrical safety & Asbestos management.
  • Must be capable & willing to develop into a responsible person for such subject matters, we are willing to provide training and development in support of your personal development and professional growth.
  • Support investigations and root cause analysis into engineering related issues or failures.
  • Have a strong ability to work in collaboration with cross disciplinary teams such as EHS,quality, Microbiology, Laboratory functions, Pilot Plant Manufacturing operations as well as WPS service providers to problem solve and overcome issues. Must be willing to own &/or support the completion of corrective and preventive actions as appropriate.
  • Support completion of site gap analyses versus clients combined EHS & Engineering standards. Own activities & projects to support compliance to standards in the event of gaps identified.
  • Support audit readiness at WPS facilities for internal and external audits covering WPS's scope of services. Participate in audit preparedness activities & build capability over time to front audits on behalf of WPS.
  • Supporting in the identification of capital projects (>30k) and small minor work activities (<30k) at the 3 sites - Project execution will be by others (WPS service providers).
  • Be responsible for acting as a key technical stake holder to service provider project management teams to ensure smooth delivery & handover of projects to both WPS & our internal R&D customers.
  • Monitor and contribute to infrastructure life cycle asset management. Actively participate in the identification of sustainability initiatives & projects in alignment with clients Enterprise objectives.
  • Become conversant with clients Computer systems for document management, maintenance management & EHS reporting. Where necessary own and support investigations within clients's EHS management system-EHSOne.
  • Support completion of engineering-related management monitoring activities per the WPS Management monitoring schedule.
  • Assist in co-authorship and periodic reviews of existing & proposed Work instructions & Standard operating procedures (SOP's) to be executed on behalf of the WPS team & its service providers.

    Essential
  • Qualified to Degree level in an Engineering discipline.
  • Self-driven with a strong willingness to learn, grow & develop your engineering
  • competencies beyond a single area of specialty.
  • Experience of the Research & Development process in GXP/regulated facilities.
  • Preferred
  • Greater than five years professional experience with a proven track record in the
  • management of complex facilities including GxP environments.
  • Prior experience within engineering/ facilities project management.
  • High level of drive & adaptability to address multidisciplinary engineering matters.
  • Team-player with a strong ability to foster good working relationships with internal teams & WPS service providers.
  • Prior Electrical experience preferred.
  • Problem solver, holding career development ambitions & demonstrating a high level of
  • ownership & accountability, requiring minimal management oversight.
  • Prior experience with Root Cause Analysis tools such as 5 Why's and Fishbones.
