Full Job Description
As part of the Maritime team, this role is responsible for providing technical support to the CUK Fleet in the management and control of Technical Inventory. Key duties include coordinating with Fleet-based Technical Stores Managers (TSMs), ensuring adherence to policies, and overseeing technical stock checks on board ships. The role will involve working closely with CUK's 3rd party logistics provider, Meachers Global Logistics, to manage inbound stock and spare parts, reduce stock duplication across ships, and minimize storage costs ashore. The role will also support the asset management strategy for Technical Inventory, working with ship teams and suppliers to identify and manage operational risks, maintain equipment and vessel availability, and streamline shore-side stock holdings. This includes coordinating all Technical and Deck landings, creating a stocktaking plan, ensuring stock levels meet the ships' itinerary needs, and reviewing stock maximum/minimum levels to manage risks across the fleet. Additionally, the role will collaborate with shore-side Asset Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Logistics departments to continually improve stock efficiency, reduce duplicate stock, and ensure only essential items are stored. The role will provide support to operational Fleet teams, ensuring that equipment is kept to the highest standards and logged for effective utilization while minimising storage volume. This role involves managing both internal and external resources to meet objectives on time and within budget, while aligning with Carnival UK's core values and culture.,
- To act as the technical expert for Technical stores
- Work with ships staff, suppliers and the shore team to identify and mitigate associated stock level obsolescence risks; devising plans to reallocate stock to vessels with greatest need for the benefit of the fleet
- Responsible for the Asset Management of equipment in their area of specialisation, including input into and oversight of the Planned Maintenance system to ensure ongoing availability
- Working with the supply chain, as required, to ensure that related inventory items are provided in a timely manner, in the most cost efficient manner
- Continuous review of inventory levels onboard and ashore and highlighting as required any risks.
- Submitting periodical updates on inventory levels and management of the process.
- Liaison with stakeholders and suppliers to develop a strategy which meet the overall project requirements
