We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Technical Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing engineering expertise, driving innovation to complex challenges and ensuring successful project execution. You will be responsible for delivering support, innovative engineering solutions, and temporary works designs to our projects and bids. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you will provide guidance to site and bid teams, offer expert advice on technical and temporary works challenges, and contribute to the growth and success of our projects.   • Develop and design temporary works solutions for live sites and tender bids.
  • Provide guidance and support to site and bid teams regarding Design Management processes and Temporary Works Management Procedures.
  • Ensure safety standard compliance and uphold Octavius and customer technical approval processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, representing Octavius in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and design consultants.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and audits, providing coaching to Temporary Works Coordinators and contributing to your ongoing learning.
  • Manage and mentor a team of up to 4 reports, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Encourage the exchange of engineering knowledge and innovation among team members and different site teams.

  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills using various methods and media.
  • Inquisitive mindset with strong research and problem-solving abilities., A degree or equivalent academic qualification in an engineering discipline, preferably civil engineering.
  • A working knowledge of construction and civil engineering works, with site-based experience highly desirable.
  • General knowledge of temporary works design and engineering methodology is essential.
  • Membership with a professional engineering body, such as ICE, is preferred.
  • Proficiency in collaborating within teams and building relationships with customers, suppliers, and clients.
  • Familiarity with BIM, engineering software packages, and CAD design is desirable.
  • A passion for continual improvement, technical innovation, and collaborative problem-solving.
