Full Job Description

To ensure Technical Excellence by developing and improving expertise and technical compliance. To ensure customer requirements and industry standards are exceeded by Developing cross functional relationships at site and group level, encouraging joined up working and raising awareness of technical standards and activities., · Direct and manage the site teams to deliver the quality management system and site HACCP. Including the internal audit plan to ensure compliance with customer, manufacturing unit, legislative, divisional and strategic requirements.
· Manage and maintain site level internal microbiological, nutritional and chemical testing schedule.
· Provide information and demonstrate operational practice in support of external audits to enable compliance with customer requirements.
· Continue to develop the capability of the team through the Technical Strategy and Building production capability and understanding to achieve relevant technical requirements.
· Monitor site KPI's adjusting the teams, activity to ensure targets are achieved and improved.
· Investigations into key deviations from process and customer specification, taking appropriate action to bring the process back into control
· Implementing and challenging corrective actions coming from monthly KPI meetings, customer audits or scorecard meeting and/or feedback from other site learnings.
· Plan and maintain resource utilisation in order to achieve the required tasks relating to QMS, hygiene and group requirements.
· Lead and deliver a project(s) to create business effectiveness and cost efficiency.
· Interface with the customers during site visits and audits, business reviews and other key opportunities. · Ensure appropriate training is delivered by the Quality & Hygiene Team to all levels of factory personnel
· Offer best practice advice and solutions to maintain hygiene and house-keeping standards - both people and environment

· BSc or above professional qualification in Food Safety or similar field.
· 5+ years food manufacturing experience, preferably in a technical role.
· Level 3 HACCP or Higher (Required)
· Auditor Qualification (Lead Auditor preferred).
· A detailed understanding of retailer codes of practice and experience in implementing them across production sites.
· Experience in Bakery or Ambient products (required)
· Training in root cause analysis methods and tools
· Experience in leading BRCGS and Regulatory Audits.
· Influencing Senior Leadership Team to drive improvement.
· Managing and Supporting in Hygiene improvement plans.
· Train the trainer.
· Understanding and Interpretation of Microbiological results.
· Proficient in Microsoft packages, especially Excel
