Full Job Description

Our busy Environmental Health team is committed to improving the quality of life of our residents and we want to recruit an excellent communicator and problem solver who is keen to join a team at the forefront of the latest initiatives in the environmental field. They will be involved in the full range of environmental health activities, including:
- Environmental protection - pollution control, planning consultations, statutory nuisance and general public health complaints
- Food and Health and Safety in commercial premises, health promotion, infectious diseases and licensing activities
- Housing and Residential - providing private sector housing advice and investigations.
Applicants are expected to have a NEBOSH general certificate and must have some experience of all or some of the aspects of this work. We welcome applications from experienced Technical Officers or new Technical Officers just starting on their career journey. They must hold a full valid driving licence and be willing to work on a rota basis to cover our out of hours noise service. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.
