Technical Product Underwriter

Allianz Trade are looking for their next Technical Product Underwriter to join our Canary Wharf based Commercial Underwriting team. Reporting to the Lead Commercial Underwriting Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to BU-specific Commercial strategy through execution, application and monitoring of Allianz Trade Commercial Underwriting standards, leading the technical underwriting and product development of our Finance & Securitisation product(s), and participating in and leading projects where commercial underwriting expertise is needed.

What you will do:

- Apply Commercial Underwriting rules and pricing strategy at BU level
- Evaluate & assess submissions for New Business, Renewals & Mid Term Amendments in accordance with Commercial Underwriting Rules
- Facilitate business development within the Commercial Underwriting rules
- ensure quality and profitability of the portfolio
- provide solutions to distribution for complex structures and/ or to find the best solution to fit customers' needs
- Lead the technical underwriting and product development (wording, product features, documentation, local guidelines, training) of Finance & Securitisation policies
- Support the training of the business on the implementation of underwriting standards
- Run control and audits to check commercial underwriting standards are applied consistently and to the level required
- Assist with the training of our Commercial colleagues and the rest of the company on underwriting, profitability of the portfolio and products
- Partner on the technical aspects of the Allianz Trade product range
- Participate in or, in some cases, lead transversal projects where Commercial Underwriting knowledge is required
