Full Job Description

Office based for 2/3 day per week QS`ing and supporting with technical questions/issues that may arise. The remainder of your week will be made up in leading larger Electrical works/ install works, training and developing our engineers and apprentices (presenting back in monthly meetings any training support needed or any performance issues with our engineering team) as well as auditing works in accordance with the NICEIC guidelines. You may also be required to attend site meeting/surveys in order to support with forth coming works. Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure health and safety is considered first, and best practice is followed, in every situation.
  • Support the Operations Department in a Technical Capacity
  • Lead from the front in any large testing or installation works that may require your skillset/labour onsite,
  • Regular review meetings with management and other QS'ers
  • Undertake training/toolbox talks with engineers to ensure the smooth running of the Electrical/PAT engineers and apprentices.
  • Conduct Regular site audits to support engineers and apprentices with their development.
  • Provide remedial quotations, by providing detailed parts lists and timings to completed defects - training to be given.
  • Undertake reviews of EIC/EICR and minor works as presented
  • Look for new ways to develop the business from an engineering perspective.
  • Attend external events, to keep abreast of current industry practices/developments
  • Ensure all engineers/apprentices are completely familiar with practises and equipment relevant to their roles
  • Conduct on site audits.
  • Support the Operations team in larger Contracts/Project works buy aiding in surveys, scheduling, planning, set out action plans, risk assessments and method statements, when required
  • Auditing PAT testers on a regular basis
  • Any other reasonable task set out by the Head of Operations/Senior Management Team
  • Main duties for Technical QS supervisor`s
  • Initial Point of contact for technical questions from engineers and office team
  • supervise all engineers who report into you and build a good working team.
  • Audit engineers while on site to make sure high standards are met and complete audit sheet.
  • Keep a record of incorrect completion of test certificates and educate the engineer of the faults.
  • Generating remedial quotations from EICR reports
  • Communicate with engineers when ordering parts to make sure you are ordering the correct item.
  • Raise/maintain standards of electrical testing and certification with team
  • Making sure engineers completed paperwork is handed in on time and within the companies SLA (No later than Monday for previous weeks work)
  • checking reports for completed thermographic tests, Load monitoring, emergency light tests on the system.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and safety requirements. Ensuring qualifications of engineers remain in date

    Current experience (within 3 years) of qualifying supervisor Role and responsibilities.
  • Hold level 3 NVQ in electrical installation
  • ECS approved electrician card
  • Experience in inspection and testing on single and three phase installations
  • PAT testing experience
  • Thermographic, Sonic testing, load monitoring experience (Training will be given)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in commercial/industrial environments
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Inspection and testing and generating certificates
  • Computer literate
  • Can do attitude
  • Flexible approach to work
  • PASMA, IPAF (Ideal but training can be provided)
