Full Job Description

SZC is ultimately owned by two shareholders, EDF and HMG. The shareholders hold their investment in SZC through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited. Over the course of the current shareholding arrangements the shareholdings of the two shareholders will change. The shareholders will fund SZC up until Financial Close through equity in line with the approved schedule and budget. SZC's business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure (including activities relating to hydrogen, direct air capture and/or desalination) at Sizewell C in Suffolk. The principal objectives of the current development phase of the SZC project are to agree and implement the Capital Raise Plan, including completing an equity and debt raise, agree the core supply chain contracts and obtain the regulatory permits and licences required for the construction phase of the Project (including the core environmental permits and nuclear site licence). Prior to the government investment decision SZC operated as part of EDF in the Nuclear Development business unit and was staffed by EDF colleagues and independent contractors who are now in the process of transferring to the direct employment of SZC. It is setting itself up as an organisation capable of delivering a new nuclear power plant, from investment case and funding, to construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance and decommissioning. The SZC construction programme has a technical and commercial business case predicated on technical replication of Hinkley Point C. EDF will be an important supplier of nuclear capability for the SZC Programme from its established nuclear business footprint in the UK. Key stakeholders are: UK Government, relevant Government departments and agencies including Treasury BEIS, EDF, Financial investors and institutions, Regulators, Alliance partners and local communities. What you'll be doing The Sizewell C (SZC) project requires a Technical Requirements Manager to interpret and develop the Technical Requirements which are defined within the Programme Alliance Agreement into an agreed set of Technical Requirements for the purposes of delivery, assurance and handover. The interpretation and development of the technical requirement for the programme will be undertaken in consultation with the Civil Works Programme (Client) to establish an agreed set of technical requirements which can be used to support the quality assurance and criteria for the CWA scope of works for both design and construction. The requirements of the Civil Works Alliance (Contractor Alliance made up for BB, LOR and Bouygues) will be defined within the Project Alliance Agreement and its referenced documents. A Requirements Management Plan will be developed which will establish how those requirements will be defined and discharged through the works. To develop the requirements management plan, it will be necessary for the Technical Requirements Manager to undertake requirements analysis to obtain a satisfactory understanding of the requirements defined within the PAA and to establish an agreed set of consistent (unambiguous, correct, complete, etc) requirements. Requirements analysis is conducted iteratively to define needs, goals and objectives in the context of the operational environments to determine functional requirements. The development of the requirements will consider the complexity of the programme and the interdependencies between multiple stakeholders, during design and construction. To address this, formal requirements management processes will be established by the Technical Requirements Manager to capture, develop and cascade requirements. This role requires collaborative working with Sizewell C, the Civil Works Programme, Engineering and technical teams and our supply chain and sub-contractors. Previous experience working in requirements management is required. The role will involve producing and owning a Technical Requirements Plan which will define the process by which the requirements will be identified, analysed and managed at each stage of the project technical lifecycle, then implementing that plan.
