Full Job Description
This is a technical role and as such we are looking for a candidate who has experience working with BMC Discovery and CMDB. As the technical specialist in this area, you will contribute to the design, development, and improvement of BMC Discovery and CMDB at The Bank. You will provide domain expertise to enable the team to meet delivery needs and challenges. You will also ensure the technical design and work are fit for purpose in both project and BAU and support this with detailed documentation. Your day-to-day role will include:
- Developing and maintaining BMC Discovery and Helix CMDB components.
- Work on user stories and ensuring they are updating until closure.
- Participate in data assessments and recommend standard methodologies in tool.
- Analyse requirements and implement enhancements.
- Call out issues when required.
- Liaise with other teams when additional support is needed., Important: Please ensure that you complete the 'work history' section and answer ALL the application questions fully. - Understanding of the Common Data Model and experience in extending the CMDB data model.
- Understanding of Blueprints, Application Modelling in BMC Discovery on prem and Helix.
- Understanding of Service Modelling in the Atrium CMDB.
- Thorough understanding of normalization and reconciliation processes and configurations. Experience with the following:
- Atrium Integrator.
- Utilising CMDB REST API to develop automation.
- Smart Reporting or Helix Dashboards for CMDB.
- Administering, maintaining, and updating Discovery Scanners, Proxies, Outposts and Consolidators.
- Solve discovery scan failures and credential problems.
- Developing TPL Patterns and Sync mappings.
- Linux, Windows, VMware, Storage systems and Network Devices.
- Linux Shell Scripts and Windows PowerShell. Required Business Skills
- Familiar with Agile methodology.
- Able to communicate with business staff members to understand the requirements.
- Work with multi-functional teams to deliver a common goal.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
