Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the development management service, including responsibilities for the registration and validation of planning applications and other associated administrative and technical work to support the council in processing planning applications and carrying out its function as local planning authority for the district. This includes plotting, consultation, document management, database inputting and geographical information system work. You will be expected to provide excellent customer service to internal staff, Elected Members and the general public.

  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics Grade C or above or equivalent qualification (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)., Experience of dealing with members of the public
  • Experience of working in a team and achieving collective goals
  • Experience of quickly analysing problems and finding appropriate solutions
  • Experience of demonstrating, guiding or advising on standard procedures and processes
  • Experience of dealing with written correspondence
  • Experience of working with a GIS system
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Skills and Behaviours:
  • Understanding of customer care approach an excellent level of customer service
  • Good written and oral skills
  • ICT and numeracy skills
  • Team working
  • Analytical and Problem solving
  • Organised/Efficient with good time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines.

Salary range: £25,584- 27,711(Band E) Hours: 37 Hours/week
