Full Job Description

Our Engineering Technician Apprenticeship is a 4-year program, which can lead onto one of the following 4 areas of technical expertise: Manufacturing/Engineering Support Technician - this role provides technical support & expertise for all areas of the Manufacturing & Engineering functions. Metrology Engineer - this role involves checking aircraft parts to ensure they are delivered correctly & to the highest standard. Quality Engineer - This role provides experience in all aspects of aircraft design & manufacture. Tooling Engineer - Tool Engineers use their skills to design, modify or repair tooling that will be used to produce aircraft parts.Apprentice Programme Structure Year 1: The majority of your first year will be working offsite at college. Towards the end of the first year, you will undertake a return to site induction followed by onsite GKN training Years 2 & 3: You will undertake Business Familiarisation rotation placements. During your placements, you will document work that you complete & review this regularly with your GKN training advisor Year 4: You will complete your Level 4 Technical Certificate & continue on-the-job training in your final department. This is where you will complete your Qualification as well as your End Point Assessment,

  • To observe the company's terms & conditions of employment
  • In both work & training, be diligent, punctual & attend courses, keep records & achieve the training objectives
  • To behave in a responsible manner & in accordance with the requirements of Health & Safety legislation
  • To promote the company's name & image with respect & diplomacy
  • To successfully complete all activities documented in the Apprentice Training Agreement

    To help us make a difference, you'll bring your passion and commitment to the role, as well as a minimum of 5 GCSE's level 4 - 9 which must include:
  • Maths: 5 - 9
  • English: 4 - 9
  • Science: 4 - 9
