Full Job Description

  • Managing and delivering business and legaslative change impacting end users, HR and Finance teams, Group Pensions & 3rd party providers
  • Delivery of System change projects ensuring that solutions satisfy governance and audit requirements
  • Leading the team, people management, coaching, developing and motivating the team.
  • Cascade of business objectives and maintaining the teams understanding of vision/mission and purpose of the department and achievement of objectives in the required timescales
  • Analysis of work volume, forecast future workflow and resource requirements
  • Payroll Teams are engaged in all System related activities or change
  • Responsible for managing key relationships with EITS and Zellis Support team, Application Consultants and Account Manager
  • Manage system upgrade, maintenance and disaster recovery activities
  • Responsible for Control, Governance and Compliance are met with System Functionality, Maintenance and Configuration changes
  • Completing IT Controls, COSA or other similar activities to ensure adequate controls are in place on the payroll system
  • Responsible for maintaining Processes and System Design Documents to ensure these remain up to date, relevant and fit for purpose
  • Ensure that available networks, user groups, and other 3rd party contacts are used to identify and recommend best practice process improvements and changes

    Experience of maintaining access to a Payroll System or similar
  • Excellent people skills including the ability to mentor, coach and influence team members
  • Organised and methodical approach

  • Resource link experience
  • Knowledge and experience of UK Payroll
  • Payroll legislation knowledge, including an appreciation for future changes and the possible impact of these on a Payroll function
  • Payroll system experience implementing change
  • CIPP or Equivalent Payroll qualification

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of the large UK Payroll Change & System Team based at Preston. As payroll system Lead you will be responsible for 2 payroll co-ordinators and as a team manage the access, security and governance of the payroll system. This will include tasks of raising support calls with the payroll software provider, testing of software releases and running payroll year end activities. Assist the pay & reward team with reporting and issues encountered across the whole process. You will have an opportunity to influence and facilitate business change and improvements in a complex payroll environment with lots of challenges.     Salary: Circa £48,000 depending on skills and experience, You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
