An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technician to join our Engineering Services team at Leicestershire County Council, one of the best performing councils in the country. As part of the role, you will report to the Engineers and assist them in efficiently designing various Highway maintenance schemes and processing Vehicular Access applications. Your goal will be to ensure that these projects are delivered within the set timeframes and budget constraints. - NVQ3 or equivalent, i.e. BTEC in Civil Engineering or A-Levels A-C in relevant subjects or have demonstrable experience (if you don't hold these qualifications, Leicestershire County Council is able to offer a Level 3 Apprenticeship to candidates with school qualifications that allow entry onto the scheme). Experience:
- Ideally the successful candidate will have worked in an engineering setting, including design, maintenance, or administrative processes in relation to highways infrastructure.
- Candidates with experience working in a commercial environment and delivering projects and programmes to time, quality and cost will also be considered.
- Experience of accurately capturing, storing and retrieving information to meet customer and organisational and needs. Knowledge:
- Knowledge of current highway design standards, construction techniques, asset management principles or maintenance standards. Skills and Competencies:
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work.
- Good IT skills, including the ability to learn the use of service specific systems and software.
