Full Job Description

As a Technician Paint you will assist in the preparation and application of primary, secondary and final paint finishes on all classes of lifeboat. Working in conjunction with other members of the ALC, you will ensure that tasks are completed in a structured and professional manner.

The ALC offers a clean, organised and safe work environment, with all tools, materials and PPE provided to enable you to undertake this work.

It is essential that you have experience in the preparation of composite structures for paint application using filling and fairing techniques.

Extensive experience on the spray, brush and roller application of various two and single pack paint systems to achieve the desired quality of finish within a controlled (paint booth) environment.

It is essential you have experience in spray paint application, as well as relevant City and Guilds or NVQ level 3/BTEC (or equivalent experience) which is relevant to paint application methods. Experience of paint application within the marine industry is desirable, but not essential.

The All-weather Lifeboat Centre is the RNLI's in-house repair, refit, and boat-building facility located in Poole, which brings every stage of the lifeboat build, repair and refit under one roof.

  • £30,000 - £34,000 (dependent on experience and hours worked)
