Full Job Description

SEND is a growing area, with student numbers increasing across the Directorate year on year. This role will support the high needs students within SEND, including our adults in accessing our SEND Catering establishments, Cherry Tree café and Canary View for example.

These facilities are open to the public and it's imperative that we meet the standardised quality control measures. Our students access these facilities for their work placement/experience opportunities and for their course requirements. Three days at Cherry Tree to support the teacher in the working kitchens and two days at Canary View in Tower Hamlets campus when the Canary View restaurant is open for customers., The role of the technician:

clean, maintain, repair and arrange for the maintenance and repair of kitchens and equipment; keeping maintenance records as directed;

To participate in the development of hospitality & catering facilities;

To maintain the general running of the department including completion of due diligent documentation to maintain EHO 5-star rating following all Food Standards Agency guidelines for the storage of food and drink. (Safer Food Better Business)

To be responsible for Health & Safety and Food Safety management systems

To organise and store equipment and materials, in accordance with college policy and, where appropriate, established guidelines.

To participate in the maintenance of good standards of health, safety and security in relation to the technician service, in accordance with college policy;

Who You Are:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible catering technician.

You will have good communication skills and be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of supporting SEND students.
