Full Job Description
As a CNC Post Processor and Digital Twin/Machine Simulation Configuration Specialist at Autodesk, you will help ensure the seamless integration of our Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software with CNC machines. In this role you will improve CNC post-processing code, configure digital machines, collaborate with various teams to enhance our manufacturing capabilities. This is a full-time hands-on role which will require a minimum of 4 days per week in our Birmingham office. You will report to Technology Consulting Manager. CNC Post Processor:
- Develop, customise, and maintain CNC post-processor for Autodesk CAM solutions
- Collaborate with CAM software developers to ensure compatibility of post-processors
- Debug and troubleshoot post-processor code to address issues and improve the functionality of the post Digital Twin/Machine Simulation Configuration
- Configure and maintain digital twin/machine simulation kits for Autodesk CAM digital twin solutions
- Collaborate with engineers and programmers to replicate machine behaviour and toolpath simulations CAM and CNC Expertise
- Use your knowledge of CAM software and CNC machines to provide technical guidance to Autodesk's internal and external partners
- Train and assist Autodesk channel partners in using CAM software and understanding post-processor and Machine Simulation processes
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) - Min 3 to 6 years of proven experience in CNC post-processing and CAM software configuration, with an understanding of G-code and M-code for multiaxis and TurnMill Machines
- Knowledge of CNC machine operation, including 3-axis and multi-axis machining
- Familiarity with industry-specific best practices in CNC machining
- Accommodate occasional domestic and international travel, Proficiency in digital twin/machine simulation software (e.g., Siemens NX, Vericut, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C++) for automation and scripting
- Experience with development, of sotware add-ins in collaboration with tooling, work-holding, and machine tool vendors
- Experience with complex CNC machining processes, such as TurnMill and 5-axis machining #LI-SH1
