Full Job Description

Across our audit functions, you will lead one of several technical project teams, delivering, and contributing to the development of the strategic direction of the NAO's technology used for supporting audit. You will work with system owners to support determining the systems and operating model under BAU, and other key business partners to ensure operational success of technology systems which have successfully transitioned to BAU. At this role level, you will:

  • Act as a technical product owner, developing medium to long term strategies for
  • product lines
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance through coaching and mentoring and
  • overseeing the delivery of NAO service line digital systems & services by internal and external teams
  • Overseeing the development of end-to-end architecture and technical designs
  • (solution, technical, and data) of NAO digital products used by the service lines, aligning with the NAO Digital Plan, corporate technology roadmaps and business development plans.
  • Engage with a variety of senior stakeholders, ensuring that technology and
  • architectural roadmaps align with and support organisational strategic goals.
  • Lead the sharing of knowledge and good practice
  • This role reports into the Head of Audit Technology and will lead a team of around 5 internal colleagues (subject to change) and external suppliers (as required). This role requires regular attendance at the NAO's office either in Victoria, London, or at the office in Newcastle.

Context and main purpose of the job: Introduction: The Technology and Data lead is a newly created role within the NAO's Digital Services (DS) function. With responsibility for leading the technology and cloud environment elements of digital products utilised by the NAO's service lines and for overseeing the strategic and governance aspects of the NAO's data platforms and tools. This role undertakes a crucial role in the digital development of the NAO, leading the technology and data practices focusing on the organisation's two service lines.
