Technology, Junior Trading Technology Support Engineer

Job Purpose: BTIG seeks a Junior Trading Technology Support Engineer to join the team in the London office. This role is to provide technology support for trading systems to BTIG EMEA, particularly focusing on FIX and OMS. The successful candidate must be open to getting involved with tasks spanning a wide area of responsibility and demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills. Has a 'can-do' attitude and takes initiative and a self-starter. Duties & Responsibilities: Supporting trading flow Configuring new clients Performing morning checks Monitoring alerts First point of contact for escalation of issues Incident management - communication, resolution, problem management Taking full ownership of issues, tasks and ad-hoc queries, maintaining records, testing deliverables and ensuring closure to the satisfaction of the requestor. Working as part of a wider global team using a 'follow the sun' model Understand trading flow for all Equities business areas Work to on-board new
clients Work to introduce and support new flows Assisting colleagues in Global Technology, outsourced technology service providers and product vendor support functions as appropriate to resolve issues spanning all BTIG offices. Requirements and Qualifications Qualification such as BSc, equivalent formal training or commercial experience (desirable). (essential criteria) Minimum 2+ years' experience Understanding of FIX Understanding of Equities markets Working in a front office environment within financial institution Problem solving skills - logical, critical thinking. Good interpersonal skills. Building effective and strong relationships with colleagues and external partners with the ability to facilitate collaboration. Ability to listen and to fully appreciate the impact of any issue from the perspective of each and every colleague. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written skills with people at all levels of seniority. Time management - able to manage competing
demands. Ability to work independently Ability to multi-task Ability to prioritise (desirable criteria) An understanding of SQL and the running of queries to generate ad-hoc reports.
