Part Time (30 hours per week)
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife to join the team at the Hillingdon Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a Telephone Helpline Midwife.
We are proud to offer the opportunity to work in a progressive environment where we are committed to an ambitious transformation of our maternity services. As part of our improvement work, we have developed the role of a Telephone Helpline Midwife to work alongside our maternity triage. The service runs Monday to Sunday (07:00 to 20:00)
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and compassionate band 6 midwife who has a passion and commitment to providing high quality, safe woman and birthing person centred care.
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development and implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision. The post holder will be responsible for giving safe, evidence based advice to all women/birthing people, families and external agencies who telephone our maternity triage department. They will be responsible for assessing the need for women/birthing people to either attend maternity triage, Emergency Department, General practitioner (GP) or to manage conditions at home. They will also be responsible for signposting women/birthing people to other agencies.
Interview Date: Tuesday 8th October 2024., Clinical:
+ Ensures a woman/birthing person/baby centred approach to delivery of care and acts as an advocate for the woman/birthing person and their baby at all times.
+ To work as part of the multidisciplinary team for the provision of care for women/birthing people.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of all relevant policies and guidelines in relation to midwifery practice.
+ To ensure individualised care is provided which reflects evidence based practice.
+ To participate in promotion of clinical governance, standard setting, clinical guideline development, implementation and audit.
+ Be involved in continuous monitoring and maintaining quality standards of clinical practice and care through a variety of ways; for example, audit.
+ To promote awareness and implementation of research based practices relating to the area of work
