Temporary Canvasser

Northumberland County Council, Electoral Service is looking to recruit Temporary Canvassers (from 18th October 2024 till 18th November 2024) who are committed to providing an efficient, effective and customer focused service to the residents of Northumberland.
The role
We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and flexible individuals, to assist the Electoral Registration Officer with the annual canvass. You will be required to maximise residents' responses by visiting households in your allocated area at suitable times when they are expected to be home, including evenings and weekends to encourage completion of the Canvass Form. The role requires excellent communication skills; both oral and written, and the ability to work alone in outdoor conditions. Applicants must have access to their own transport which must have business insurance cover.
We are offering:
â- An hourly rate of £11.59 (In addition annual leave pay will be accrued for hours worked). â- You will be paid the NJC mileage for all agreed mileage incurred.
â- Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme (or other pension scheme)
Essential requirements:
â- You will be allocated a specific area, where possible local to your home address.
â- An informal web-based discussion will take place on 25th September 2024, further information will be provided to successful applicants.
â- You will be required to collect stationery from County Hall, Morpeth on Friday 18th October 2024, time slots to be confirmed closer to the date.
