Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Temporary Utilities Manager to join our team at the Sizewell C project. This critical role involves managing the limited temporary utility supplies on site to ensure the timely progression of the project. You will be responsible for the strategic management, coordination, and execution of all utilities requirements during the early works phase, ensuring that delays are avoided and that all activities comply with permit conditions and the Development Consent Order (DCO)., As Temporary Utilities Manager, you'll be responsible for managing the scarce temporary supplies on the site before the main utility connections become available and are executed swiftly to avoid delays to the project. You be a primary point of contact and be responsible for leading the resolution of any issues related to the management and provision of temporary supplies. You'll promote Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) feedback and take a proactive role in addressing SHE concerns tied to the provision and management of temporary utilities.

You will also lead a team responsible for coordinating with Utilities Construction teams, including Design, Temporary Works, and Consents Managers, to ensure compliance with DCO requirements and best practices. Building strong relationships with other teams to understand their requirements and needs for temporary supplies, while fostering collaboration with Utilities Designers, Contractors, temporary utility suppliers, and external stakeholders as needed.

A key to success is keeping accurate and up-to-date records of consumption and demand for temporary utilities across various project teams, provide necessary information for environmental permits, and ensure effective coordination with internal stakeholders such as the Construction, Environmental, and Site Operations teams.

You'll have proven experience in utilities coordination or management on large construction projects, managing multidisciplinary teams and prior experience in major programme projects. In-depth knowledge of utility management in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects with strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities. Risk management and problem-solving skills and knowledge of environmental management and sustainability practices are all essential to the success of this role.

Desirable:
Background in Construction Management, or a related field.

Professional certifications in project management e.g., PMP or Prince2.

Familiarity with nuclear power plant projects or similar high-compliance environments would also be a distinct advantage.
