All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe's latest high speed rail projects., We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Works Coordinator to join our Twyford to Greatworth (T2G) section based in the Brackley area.
In this role you will manage and coordinate the team of Temporary Works Coordinators within their project area in the specification, design, approval, checking, installation, maintenance and removal of all necessary temporary works (TW). You will deputize/carry out the duties of the TWC where necessary e.g. in the event of absence and identify all TW and record on the TW Control Register.
You will assess the risk level of all TW and record on the TW Control Register and contribute to design briefs with full consultation of those involved, ensuring they are adequate and in accordance with the actual situation on site.
You will ensure TW design and design checks are carried out, available and issued to interested parties (e.g. Client, Principal Designer). You will also ensure the Safe System of Work for the erection, use and dismantling of the TW are prepared, and are communicated to an understood by those involved.
You will provide full details of the design, including and limitations or constraints associated with the TW, are available to those responsible for the erection of TW. You will appoint competent TWSs in accordance with EKFB JV procedure. You will ensure that ground conditions, general site conditions, loadings etc. are as stated on the Design Brief or the TW design assumptions (and remain so during use).
In addition, you will ensure that Hold Points (Permit to Load/Unload) are identified and are known by all those involved and are not passed until a Permit is issued. You will check that everyone carrying out bespoke fabrication of temporary works is competent.
Relevant technical qualification, degree in Civil Engineering, BTEC, HND or HNC
- Relevant experience in TWC/TWS and major civil engineering works
- Extensive knowledge of BS 5975
- Experience in MS Office Suite
- Good organisational and communication skills
